~*Luki's Story*~

(Sorry, no clever name for this one XD)

{Luki age nine}

"Luki, It's the fate of vampires to live on death, no matter how hard you try you're going to end up killing... Besides, you'll find it quite enjoyable~" Vasilla, his mother, whispered to him as she held his shoulders.

Luki stared down at the girl his mother had just brutally murdered in horror, the girl was a friend of his, they went to the same school, if he hadn't convinced her to come with him, she would have never died.

"N-NO! I'll never end up like you and Dad! I can change, I'm going to save lives Not take them!!"

"Hahaha!! Oh Luki, don't let your father hear you saying that~"

"I don't care if he hears it or not! It's the truth!"

Vasilla ruffled his hair with a smirk. "Luki, I don't think you knew this, but the first week of a soul vampire's life they can only feed on souls, you've been a murderer from the day you where born, sweetheart~"

Luki lowered his head taking in the new information, after a few minutes he spoke. "I can't change the past, but I will change my future."

"Don't be silly Luki, you've managed to feed before going into lust, for years now, so don't get all soft hearted now." Vasilla was getting tired of discussing things with Luki, he was always trying to be a saint, something she found pointless for Vampires of any kind to attempt.

"Amy was my friend! Y-You just slaughtered her with out batting an eye! Sh-she was my age.... Could you kill me with-" She back handed him causing him to fall to the ground.

"Of course I couldn't kill you. You're my son, she was my food."

Luki pulled himself up. "..... You're my mother... You should be less inclined to hurt children..."

"I don't like hurting children... They aren't as fun, I've told you that, now lets get home."

Luki bowed his head as he followed his mother.

*****************************************************************************

"Come on, we're going into town." Vasilla said to Luki as she grabbed her red coat off the coat holder by the door.

Luki looked up from the book he was reading on the floor, "Can I stay here? .... I don't feel like going out."

"Luki, get up." Delroy, Luki's father, ordered.

Luki's shoulders drooped as he closed the book and got up, he grabbed his black jacket and followed his mother out the door, "Sooo... Where are we going?"

"Your mother said you haven't been eating, I'm going to fix that." Delroy stated looking down at Luki.

"You can't make me do anything." Luki growled crossing his arms.

Delroy got a sinister smile as he grabbed Luki's arm and pulled him along.

"Ow, let go!! You're hurting me!!" Luki growled trying to pull his hand free.

"You should know not to disrespect you father." Vasilla hummed before looking at Delroy, "Don't be to hard on him now, Darling~"

"Don't worry, I'm not being that rough~" Delroy replied with a sly smile to his wife.

"Liar." Luki muttered glaring at his father.

Delroy waited until they where outside of the town before turning to Luki, "Now, I want you to behave and eat, can you do that for me?"

"Not if it means killing someone." Luki replied pulling his arm free as his father nodded to his mother and she went off.

"Pity..... I hope you realize that humans are going to hunt you for the rest of your life, so you might as well feed on them."

"Two wrongs don't make a right... Parents are the ones that should teach that to their children!" Luki growled.

"So disappointing~" Before Luki could process what was going on he saw the glint of his father's sword leaving it's sheath and then horrible pain shot through his stomach as his pupils shrank and his eyes widened, he stared up at his father as he fell to his knees.

"Oh dear, I thought you said you'd be gentle." Vasilla sighed as she came over with an unconscious boy.

"Looks Like you need to feed... Or die Luki~" Delroy smirked.

Luki shook his head as he fell forward barely catching himself with his left hand as he held his stomach with the right.

"Come now Luki... You don't want to die, do you?"

"I don't... Want to spend my life... Killing others!"

"How sad, dying it is then~" Delroy chuckled.

Luki struggled to look at his mother pleadingly, but she just smiled and looked away dropping the child in front of him, he could feel his fangs piercing his lips as he stared at the boy. He was trying his hardest to resist his vampire instinct.

"Come on now~ make mommy proud~" Vasilla hummed, but Luki could barely hear her as his mind went blank, he saw his hand reach out and grab the unconscious boy then yanked the boy over and latched onto his neck.

Luki's thoughts slowly came back to him, everything in him was screaming at him to let go, but his body wouldn't oblige. He could feel the tears rolling down his face as he fed, knowing there was no way the boy would survive.

His father made sure Luki would continue feeding by making him go weeks without feeding until Luki finally got the courage to run away, it took him months, but he found some woods that people hardly went through and made it his home feeding on the few people that decided to brave the woods.

{Luki age sixteen}

Luki was lying on a large tree branch dozing in and out of consciousness, a small raccoon he had befriended watched him from a small branch above him, its ears twitched twice right before it leapt down onto Luki's stomach.

"Gachaaa!!" Luki exclaimed as he shot up fully awake, he looked around before realizing it was the raccoon and gave it a half hearted glare.

"Oh ha ha, very funny, Maline." Maline whacked Luki on the nose before running to the end of the branch and looking down.

Luki cocked his head curiously at the raccoon before looking down as well, It had been a long time since someone had traveled through the woods Luki was having to make do with animals, so it was really surprising to him that he'd see a young girl, he leaned forward and rubbed his eyes making sure he was actually seeing this blue haired girl.

"Look at that, she doesn't even look scared, doesn't she know this place is supposed to be haunted?" Luki whispered to himself as he watched the girl look over a poorly drawn map.

Luki quickly grabbed his white coat, or cloak, from a nearby tree branch and put it on before dropping down from the tree, Luki slowly approached the girl from behind, he felt bad that he'd have to feed from someone so young, but survival of the fittest right?

"Hmmmmmm no... No this isn't right at all.... What... No I guess this is the right way... Wait no..." The girl was clearly not able to read the map.

"Need help~" Luki asked in a smooth tone.

"AAHH!" The girl exclaimed as she quickly spun around and whacked Luki's face with the map.

Luki stared wide eyed at her for several minutes before blinking.

The girl slowly peeked her eye open and gasped as she saw Luki and removed the map from his face. "Oh my goodness! I'm so terribly sorry!!"

Luki couldn't help but laugh. "I-It's quite alright~ You should be jumpy in these woods~." Luki leaned forward to whisper to her. "After all~ these woods are haunted~"

The girl backed up away from him. "Thank you for the warning, but I'll take my chances."

"Now, now, Angel~ You don't have to 'Take chances', I'll guide you~" Luki said with a charming smile.

The girl looked him over curiously. "Alright.... But if you do anything odd, I'll find my way on my own."

"Fine by me, Angel~" Luki said with a smirk as he took the lead.

"Please, don't call me that... I'm just a human." The girl stated Luki took that as his chance to butter her up more.

"Really? You look far too beautiful to be human~"

"Okay, look Mr., I'm not lil red riding hood! I'm not interested in someone trying to play 'the big bad wolf', I have business to do." The girl stated promptly turning around, again this girl had left Luki shocked.

He quickly reached out and grabbed her wrist as he regained his composure, "Wait, I'm sorry, I was just being honest." Luki said barely keeping his smooth tone.

The girl sighed as she turned around. "I'm sorry, I've been traveling for awhile.... I just want to get to a town and rest."

This was normally good news for Luki, it meant he wouldn't have to do much to tire her out more, but he felt bad he could see the ware on her soul. She had been through a lot and seen a lot more, and yet she still had a naive, young, feisty, strong soul. All the makings of a delicious meal, normally.

"Don't worry, I'll get you to town." Luki replied surprised at how honest he sounded, she was going to be his food, he's no knight in shining armor that goes around rescuing maidens, he's a vampire the person they need rescuing from!

"I trust you." The girl smiled.

Luki let go of her arm and backed up wide eyed his voice losing all its charm. "Wh-why would you say that?"

"No need to look so surprised, it's... More of a feeling I get, I trust you, I can see you're a good person."

"Th-thank you.... Let's... Get you out of here." Luki replied quietly, as he looked down and started to lead the way.

'What the he** am I supposed to do.... She looks like she actually trusts ME! Why can't she tell I'm going to kill her?! ... God, why did she have to say that... Why am I even letting it get to me?!' Luki thought, his mind was racing so fast he didn't realize the girl had been speaking.

"Um Mr. Hellooo~"

"Huh? Oh sorry, what where you saying?" Luki asked glancing back at the girl.

"I was saying... Since you're leading me around, I should probably know your name, mine is Numori."

"Pretty name... Is it your sir-name?"

"I don't have a sir-name..." Numori replied quietly before looking back up, "Now, what is your name~?"

"Luki... Luki Landsing." He replied a bit puzzled that he didn't use one of the thousands of false names he had made up.

"Oh Yuki Landsing! I love it!" Numori chirped.

"Uhhh... No, no it's Loooo-key." Luki replied making the Lo sound spooky, out of habit from talking with Maline.

"Hehehe I still like it Luuuuki~" Numori giggled.

"Hehehe you'd be a first." Luki chuckled.

"Really? That's too bad, it's a nice name." She said smiling.

Luki's smile faded as he narrowed his eyes and extended out his arm to stop Numori, "Numori get behind me."

"Okay... What's wrong?" Numori asked as she got behind him.

Luki looked around he could smell a vampire nearby.

"Hand over the girl and there won't be any trouble lad." A woman with long red wavy hair stated as she stepped out, she had a slender figure and a nearly heart shaped face. It reminded Luki of a red headed version of his mother.

Luki spoke lowly in french to the woman, he told her that the girl was his meal, and unless she wanted to be his appetizer she best be leaving. He had no clue that Numori could understand most of what he said.

"Hehehe can't we share?" The woman asked in french her eyes taking a red tint.

"Lu-Luki... Wh-what is she?!" Numori asked frightened as she gripped his shirt tightly.

Luki didn't reply to Numori he glared at the woman and with a slight growl replied, "No we can't 'share', she's mine now scram!"

"Oh that's to bad~" The woman growled as she charged towards them her arms clawed and by her side.

Luki stepped forward and punched the woman hard, he could tell she was going into blood lust, she laughed as she darted towards Numori who had let go of Luki and stepped back away from him.

Luki glared at the woman as he cut her off grabbing her jaw and upper head, quickly jerking her neck causing it to make a sicking snap, for safe measure he pulled out a small knife and plunged it into her chest before letting go and stepping back.

Numori looked wide eyed at the body then to Luki as he turned around with a small, sad smile as he walked over and offered her a hand, she absently took his hand and rose to her feet.

Luki let go and sighed before speaking English, "I'll give some time to run away... I'm sure you're scared senseless of me, so I'll let you get your thoughts together."

Numori looked at him her heart racing. "If you really are a bad person.... Why are you crying?"

Luki's eyes widened as he raised a hand to his face and felt the damp tear streaks. "D*** it!! Why did you have to believe me?! I-I'm a vampire! I kill people I don't save them, princess!"

"You don't have to! You might be a vampire, but that's no reason to give up on living your life, you might not be able to stop feeding but... Maybe you can save people!" Numori said looking him in the eyes.

"S-save people? .... I can't... I don't know how."

"Yes you do, you just did... She would have killed me."

"Numori, I was about to kill you!" Luki stated backing away.

"You didn't though! And you at least have remorse." Numori replied stepping forward.

"Look, you don't know me princess, I'll show you out of these woods but it's up to you to survive from there!" Luki stated.

"Why are you staying here?" Numori asked.

"Because, I love nature... It's none of your business." He replied deciding it was best to just be mean to her so she would leave first chance she got, "I need to get my things, it will take a few days to get out of here."

Luki sighed as he walked back the way they came.

Numori pondered whether or not she should follow but decided to follow anyway.

Luki walked back to the tree he had first saw Numori from, he looked up at Maline who was still on the branch and reached out his hand. Maline quickly grabbed a thermos, dropped it into Luki's, hand and then grabbed a blanket and dropped it down as well.

"Thank you~" Luki hummed as caught the thermos and blanket, he carried it to a nearby tree with a hallowed out trunk and placed them next to a duffle bag, before unzipping the duffle bag and putting everything in it.

"Ho-how did you get that blanket and the other thing?!" Numori asked not able to see Maline through the leaves.

"I'm just special that way." Luki replied blankly.

"AAAWWW!! Can we bring it with us?!" Numori exclaimed as she saw Maline run over from the tree.

"Geh! N-no! It's a deadly killing machine!" Luki replied surprised that Maline would show himself.

"He doesn't look dangerous." Numori said crossing her arms.

"You're dangerous aren't ya boy?" Luki said to Maline hoping Maline would growl or something. Maline got a gleam in his eyes as he leapt up to Luki's shoulder, placing his paws on both side of Luki's head, and started licking him.

"PAH!! MALINE! STOP, THIS ISN'T VICIOUS!!" Luki exclaimed trying to pull the raccoon off.

"Hahahahaha!! Unless he has acidic saliva I think it's safe to bring him."
Numori laughed as Luki pouted in defeat.

"Awww are you pouting?" Numori asked noticing the face Luki was making.

"No. No, of course not." Luki mumbled looking away.

"I think you were~" Numori hummed, she was scared of him earlier, but now she couldn't see him as a killer, he seemed to sweet... And he seemed scared of himself.

"You're looking at me weird.... If we're traveling together... You can't get that weird look in your eyes." Luki said eyeing her nervously.

"I'll get whatever look I want~" Numori giggled, saying this could be risky if he's just pretending.

Luki's eye twitched as he looked at her. "What part of deadly vampire that was considering killing you, don't you understand?"

Numori smiled at his response. "All of it, but I trust you~"

Luki felt a pit in his chest as she said that horrible statement. "Don't make me revoke your talking rights."

"Ah! You can't do that!" Numori stated puffing her cheeks slightly.

"Pffft... Wh-what are you doing?!" Luki asked trying to hold back his laughter, it was the first time the word adorable had crossed his mind.

"I'm not doing anything...Why are you laughing?" Numori asked trying not to pout.

"Your face.... It it was hehehe... Adorable!" Luki said not able to hold back his laughter.

"Ehhhh!" Numori's hands flow to her cheeks as she turned away.

Luki instantly went silent and covered his mouth. "I-I'm sorry... I shouldn't be laughing..."

Numori slowly turned back towards him, her glare quickly faded when she saw Luki practically bowing.

"I-its okay... You didn't do anything wrong."

Luki looked back up trying to hide his teary eyes.

"Lu-Luki... Are you... Tearing up?"

"No. Vampires don't care about food's feelin-" Luki was cut off by Numori stepping on his foot, he blinked a bit and looked back at Numori. "Was that supposed to hurt?"

"I-it wasn't supposed to hurt you badly..." Numori replied pouting at the lack of reaction.

"Oh... Well anyway, we should get going." Luki stated as he threw the bag over his shoulder and started leading the way.

"Right." Numori happily grabbed his free arm and started walking with him.

"What are you doing?"

"Walking~"

"No, I mean why did you grab my arm?"

"Oh! ... Because I felt like it, besides... Now we won't get separated."

"You..... Are weird." Luki said beginning to question this girl's sanity.

Numori just giggled and continued walking with him.
